My Name is Deanna Coleman, I am a mother of THREE beautiful Children! I am the wife of an awesome and purpose driven husband! I am a Daughter, sister, Auntie, Friend, and I am AWESOME!
My Job is a Daycare Provider of 10 more Amazing little children! I get to see them grow, learn, and Play! I get to see them both at their worst and their best!
My Most important job though is being a mommy.... I have a 6 year Old daughter who just completed the 1st grade with PERFECT ATTENDANCE!!!!! She loves to dance, write, color, do anything involving art, and watch TV! She is so very friendly and growing up so fast! I have a 3 year old son, who is equally amazing! He is talking so much, he enjoys seeing his friends everyday but lets me know through frustration when he has had enough! I work on him with Sharing and being nice and then realize that in fact he is sharing every day! He has to share his mommy, his toys, his life with all these other kids, I suppose that is very stressful and frustrating at times, he does pretty good! I have a 1 year old Daughter who is just learning to walk! She is talking, saying many different words, Expressions are priceless, she is very smart!
My hobbies include: Community Service, Making others see the potential in themselves, pushing others to give it their all and realize that their happiness is all up to them! I love to dance, sing, play, stretch, walk, and Run (This is something I do in my head right now) LOL. I love meeting new people... although upon becoming a mother I have a very hard time meeting new people.... its an unexpected fall back, but i'm working on that!
My fears include cram packed rooms... (Of people), Losing someone (I go overboard on this one), Hurting someones feelings, not living up to my own expectations of myself.
My favorite colors are: green, Pink and Purple, blue, well I pretty much LOVE all colors!
My husband along with being my best friend is also my motivator! I can get down and he picks me up and throws me back into life! :P He is a Flight Paramedic for Black Hills Life Flight! He is the Base Manager there. He is a photographer, teacher, music fanatic, and loves to be free! He loves to take risks and strive for the best he can be! I've never met a man as strong as he is! He of course made his life, he made mistakes, he had his whole world fall over top of him, and then he picked himself up piece by piece and made himself better than he's ever been in his life! I love him so very much!
This life I live, is the LIFE! Its awesome! Its perfect! We all have our ups and downs but the downs make me stronger, they give me purpose to strive to jump higher! I appreciate the downs and I love the ups! I learn everyday through others, through my own experiences! I CHOOSE TO LOVE MY LIFE as it is! I choose to work hard to make it even more AWESOME!
Just thought I'd let you know a little more about myself and my life :) Hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing it :)

Taking Care of ME!
Taking Care of Me: The Habits of Happiness By: Mary Kay Mueller.
I have to say before I start that this woman is amazing.... I admire her and thank her very much for many of my thoughts and feelings, truths and path in the last few weeks..... I had already been on the path i'm going now, but she inspired me to go BIGGER, do MORE, enjoy it more and remember to take care of myself while I'm on my mission of helping others...... I am so blessed to have met her in person! I wish I could have sat down and talked to her for a few whole days or weeks! She just radiates her passion and her awesomeness......
So I am 8 pages into this book (Which I HIGHLY recommend!) and I've come across the first things I want to blog about..... YOUR POWER>....... HMMMM Did you know you have powers? They are SUPER powers and we all have them! I know I have power I have seen it work in many ways.... Through me and through others I've talked to.... I'm not trying to sound all high and mighty.... I'm actually talking about the power to choose.... Choose what you want with your life, choose your own path.... This POwer is YOURS you should never give it away unless it helps with your happiness and even then you don't give that thing/person all your power becuase again this is YOUR power :)
Okay I'll get to it..... This was my post on Facebook this morning:

Some thoughts on Death.......
So Not only did I think of my daddy last night after I saw a motorcycle I also got a visit from him in my dream last night.... It was so nice to see him again! And while I should feel better because I got to see him..... I feel a little sad and just kinda having a hard time getting up for the day.... I am not sure why this is so upsetting for me at this particular moment, I mean I think of him at least once a day or every few days and smile :) I know he's up there watching over me, but I just feel sad.... I guess thats okay as long as its done after a few hours :P
I just got to thinking about all the nice things that were done for our family The next two weeks after my fathers unexpected death.... I just can't remember if I ever said thank you..... so then I started thinking about all these people who were there for me, and my family and I get to trying to remember if I did thank them????? Am I crazy, because I can't remember if I thanked everyone going on 13 years ago?!??! So I want to thank you again.... There were so many of you that were there, you comforted my grandmother and grandfather, my Fathers sisters and Brothers, My mom and Step mother and us (His children) I used to think of only the parts I didn't like.... Which was pretty much all of it! I hated the fact that he was gone! I didn't like the way he left, I felt embarrassed, sad, and really PISSED off....There is a lot that is still a blur, like either I was just removed from my body at that time or maybe i just shoved it deep down inside me and its not ready to come to surface yet! I hated that people would say "They're Sorry" (To this day I TRY not to ever say that to anyone grieving.... I am sorry too, but I hate when someone just says "I'm sorry for your loss") I was 15 years old when my father passed away..... I had just written him a letter asking him why he was never there.... Why I saw him drive by on his motorcycle but he didn't stop? Didn't he love me? Didn't he want to spend time with me???? Why did he tell me he was coming but then wouldn't come? I had so much pain and I was so mad with him.... I wrote him this letter and then He died..... and then My Step brother blamed me and said that it was my fault he got drunk that night!!!!! It was my fault, "He was SO UPSET when he read your letter!" "You hurt his feelings very bad"
I held on to this guilt for so long!!!! I killed my father.... I killed my father by telling the truth about how I felt..... :(
Since then..... I have learned alot about my father, about the things he did and the things he saw, and went through.... He was a Vietnam Veteran! He was a Husband to three beautiful women, (Different times of course) He was the Father to four beautiful children. He had alot of great qualities about him, and there was so much he probably wishes he could do again.... or do over. I love my father regardless of how much he was here for me, or what happened... that is in the past, i love him for giving me life.... For giving me the opportunity to live and make this beautiful family of mine. Theres so much more I could say about him.... I could talk about him for days.... Theres still so much I DON"T know about him....
I love to listen to stories about my father, as a child, a teenager, a man..... I love hearing about him and what he really was before the Alcohol and the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder..... Even during that time, he was quite an interesting man :)
Because of my father I have a passion for helping others, for promoting "No Drinking and Driving" for helping others through depression and for being a role model to young adults who may have every reason to go down the wrong path..... I have a passion to help.... before its too late.
Well I don't know where this Blog Article was supposed to go, now that I read back it has many directions.... All about my father but to sum it up.... I feel sad today, I miss him very much, THANK YOU so much if you were here for us during his death, and funeral and after, Guilt, and help.....

If I had No Fear, What would I do?
So one of the things that MK Mueller said at the South Dakota Early Childhood Conference a couple weekends ago was: If I had NO Fear What would I do????
Well Think about that..... If you really had NO Fear What would you do?
There is so much things I don't do because, number 1 I don't want to and number 2 I'm afraid given my family history I'll like it too much.... Ie: Drink, Drugs, ect....
But I don't think she was referring to these things.... If I had no Fear What would I do?
1. I would take my family and just go, we'd travel the world in our vehicle, camp and work when we needed more money..... (Wouldn't that be fun?!?!)
2. I would probably start speaking as a motivational speaker, I'd speak to everyone about things that are hard to talk about, motivate them, inspire them, show them they are so much more than they could have ever dreamed..... You know I'd probably want to start, and end on the reservations.... I want and see so much they can do, I wish they could see the potential in their land and themselves! I want to inspire the younger generation and my generation to do something different..... to start making a difference.
3. If I had no fear, I'd probably do quite a bit more things than I do now, I wouldn't feel like I had limits and had to stay within those limits.... I wouldn't care what people thought or if they were mad at me.... You know this is one of the biggest flaws I have about myself is worrying too much about how others FEEL about what I do or say.... Its not that I don't tell them anyway but I fear that they'll be mad at me for one reason or another for saying the wrong thing.... I like to tell people the truth, or how I see things.... I like to make people feel better :) I like to make them see there are other ways to get what they want.... and that they should NEVER give up on their life, their dreams, and their desires....
4. I'd stop thinking so much :) LOL
HMMM I'm sure there are so many more things i'd do if I had no fear but I'll have to think even more.

The Past..... and the future......
Listening to the sounds around me.... Such beautiful children just resting and enjoying their naps.... I have been babysitting for a LONG time now.... It shows you see, when I go to different things like for instance, last Saturday at the PROM!!!! There were quite a few young adults there that I used to babysit!!!! Well as you all know i'm NOT old, by any means so this can only mean one thing.....
"Enjoy them now because they'll never be this small again!"
"They grow up so fast!!!!"
"They'll be Graduated and out of the house
before you know it!"
These are photos of just a FEW of the kids I used to babysit! I have photos of them all when they were much smaller.... when they looked up to me! And we used to act silly and play and have fun! And NOW look at them!!!!!!! So again.... I'm sitting here listening to the steady restful breathing of these beautiful babies.... Some of them i've had since they were 6 months old, some of them I've had since the day I opened my Daycare.... I don't know where their paths will take them, I don't know what they'll grow up to be, or what they'll look like at their prom.... But one thing you can be sure of, I was part of their life and I hope to be for the rest of their lives :) I feel so proud to have babysat for these wonderful families and to see the kids I cared and care for all grown up and awesome!!!!!
The Time you Thought the Straightner was Pliers, and the Perfume was a water bottle and the Hair Dryer was a gun!.....
Halloween 2012!
Taking care of the Baby!
I don't want you to grow up! But I can't wait to see what you'll do and where you'll go :)

Life and the Paths we cross.......
~The twists and turns and mountains of struggles you get through in life teach you lessons, make you stronger and help you for future mountains! I want you to know that If you didn't know already you have friends, and while I can't provide you with money or material things, I can provide for you a friendship that is worth more than anything material! If you need me call me, I'm here for you, My friendship is something I don't take for granted, I love being your friend and I love being there for you in times of happiness, twists, turns, mountains and rock bottom!! ~
As most of you know I spend alot of time on Facebook.... One might say i'm addicted but I'm NOT :) I conduct all sorts of business on Facebook, my business, my Community Service projects, I read the news and keep up with all my friends an family, i network, ect. ect. ect. So at any rate I was reading this morning and I saw alot of posts from my friends and family that were just a little down, depressed, "How much more can I take?" kind of posts.... I thought about it and the times i've been in those situations where I wondered just how much more I could take.... What would it take to break me????
And All my life its been drilled into my head "God will NEVER give you more than you can handle" "God will always help you through and guide you in the right direction if you listen and talk to him!" But I do remember a time, just once where I didn't remember those things drilled into my head, I didn't see that there were people who really cared... I didn't see how I was even worth living on this world.... I remember feeling so sad, depressed, Hurt and all alone.... I felt like I didn't have a friend i could go to that would just hug me, have no judgement and listen...
At this point i realized i had hit rock bottom.... I looked into those last few months and realized I was a Negative Nancy, and I was no fun to be around, I didn't see the good in anything anymore.... Who was this woman I had become? Where did Deanna go? I look back now and I think i cried for days... I was weepy but that night that i actually hit rock bottom.... You know that point where you feel like you're nothing, like your life means nothing? THAT night that I hit THAT point.... A phone call made me realize how stupid I was to have any thoughts like the ones I was having....
I went to a doctor... and Although all my life I had never wanted medicine or PILLS to help solve any problems... just wait it out it will get better... I asked him for help. I told him how I had been feeling... It was so hard for me... I am Deanna and I had never been like this before, I felt like i didn't know anything about myself anymore.
It Turned out to be Post Pardum Depression and just Plain and simple DEPRESSION! I had been waiting and waiting and waiting thinking it would never happen to me! I'm too happy and strong to let depression get me.... The pill didnt work right away... it was gradual... I also started taking vitamins and started on that LONG, bumpy, mountainous journey to find Deanna again! At any rate I'm sharing this to let you know it happens to the best of us... It finds us and knocks us down when we're least expecting it! Life never gets easier but it gets better! The harder you work the more proud you are to have what you have! Stop blaming ANYONE else for the way you feel you have the power to make yourself happy! You have the POWER to find yourself! YOU are the key to all your problems....
Once you find yourself... No matter what happens in life you can have a better attitude about it.... You will find a way to get through the muddy mess and Move towards the Flowers and Beautiful Grass! Things happen.... Its tough... But if you think about it things could ALWAYS be worse.... Be happy and thankful you're here to experience the path of life :)

The McClung Family......
A Personal Thank You :)
First of all I just want to say Thank you So much for all the things you taught me, in child care, house work, cooking (Believe it or not!), decorating and building a house, and even business...
So I was just changing my daughters diaper, and poor thing has a little diaper rash started and the first thing I put on is Auquafor. It made me think of some people who are a pretty special part of my life and the whole reason I went to Virginia, and Met the love of my life :)
The McClung Family invited me into their home as their Nanny back in 2005! I didn't stay long, but the things I learned are a great deal, I think of them often in many things I learned specifically from them that I use on a daily basis!!!!
1. Aquafor LOL I had never heard of this and wondered at the time why did you have to put it on EVERY diaper change even if there was no diaper rash! (Still do it to this day)
2. Cleaning that dang Garbage can: So Sheila it was a HUGE thing that that trash can flap and can stay clean.... Its my thing now, I can't stand the trash can to be dirty! LOL
3. SPEGHETTI Sauce!!!!: Although I have NEVER mastered the exact replica of your family recipe I think i get pretty close! And i still use ring sausage in my sauce!!!! LOVE it! (What wine did you use?) (Cooking is STILL not my favorite part of the day :P)
4. Thinking of Decorating my house? There were a LOT of things I loved about both homes! Lots of things I would love to have in my Someday Dream house :)
5. Investing..... Hmmm you gave me a book about this... I pull it out from time to time "thinking" about it but its still foreign to me, maybe I should get back in touch with you to figure this stuff out....
There are not many things I regret in life but Know this I regret not keeping in touch very well with all of you, you were a special part of my life, you taught me a lot of great things, you helped me experience things I'd never seen, Got me out of South Dakota to start a new exciting Adventure and low and behold I met the love of my life right there in Virginia!
So here is to Mike, Sheila, Craig, Sheldon, Honor and Jadzia, I sure miss all of you and thank you so much for the opportunity you gave me :) I hope to keep in better touch and maybe show you a bit of South Dakota?!?!!?

OH The Things you'll do :) The Places You'll go!!!!
Oh The Things You'll Do and The Places You'll GO!
I tell you what, If you would have asked me 10 years ago what I'd be doing in 2013 I would have told you I'd have a family, I'd be a HIgh School Counselor and I'd still be in Martin SD :) I guess I was pretty right!!!! In 2003 I graduated from High School! HUGE point in my life! I planned a BRIGHT awesome future and it was all just beginning :) I was finally getting out of the house and I didn't have a curfew anymore :) :) :) If anyone told me being an adult was hard I'd laugh and say NO ITS AWESOME!!!!!! And get this I LOVED to pay bills! and I loved having my name ON the bills!
At any rate not I didn't waver from my dreams very far! Although I am NOT a High School Counselor, I do have a family! AND I do live in Martin SD!!! But I've had an awesome journey these last 10 years! I am a Home Daycare Provider and i'm dang proud of it! Not only do I get to stay home with my own children I also get to watch other ones babies and care for them as if they were my own! I have the best job in the world! Although when I grow up I would still like to be a Counselor but that has changed as well, Instead of High School I'd like to work in a Group Home or a Job Corp or something of the sort with Troubled young adults who just need a positive PUSH in the right direction! I'd also like to own my own business and be an AWESOME community member! Although I still think being an adult is AWESOME!!! and I still love to pay bills WITH my name on them! I do agree that being an adult is hard sometimes! Gosh, when you're sick you don't get mommy anymore! And you have to worry about staying home sick because if you don't go to work you won't have the money you need to pay the bills with your name on them :) OH and you have to become your parents in a sense when everything finally CLICKS and you realize that they WERE in fact right!!!! LOL and then you start scolding your child the SAME way your parents scolded you!
Making friends is harder too in the grown up world.... and maintaining friendships, juggling them with family and work and all the other things that come out of nowhere, where does time with friends fit in? You certainly have to work harder!
My mom told me to "GO SEE THE WORLD" Go while you're still young and you don't have a family!!!! So I did I decided to become a nanny! and I moved 1600 miles away from home and everything I ever knew! My friends, family, LiFE to move to the UNKNOWN and see the UNKNOWN!!!! Who would have ever thought........
So anyways.... I loved my adventure and I'll probably tell my own children the exact same thing when they graduate high school..... However I hope they come back or don't move too far away.... I can't imagine life without my babies! (Wait is that early onset Empty nest syndrome starting?!?!!?)
SO I made the front page of the Local Newspaper today! I"m super stoked! I'm famous again! I hadn't made the front page for 10 whole years! I have to say i'm pretty proud and i'm not afraid to gloat :P
I hope you all have had a wonderful day!

Those feelings.....
So I run a Daycare out of my home..... Most of you know this already.... I would like to know how everyone feels when your daycare closes.....
My children are sick so I feel like I need to close because I don't allow other kids into my daycare when they are sick.... and also because I need to give my babies all the love they need to get all better, or go to the doctor. So why do I feel so HORRIBLE every time I have to shut daycare down?????
I feel like i'm the only person some of my families have to watch their precious babies.... there are the sighs or the silence when told i'm closing for a day that just kill me.... Like I feel bad and mad at the same time is this possible? I mean I shouldn't feel this bad right there in my handbook it says you should have back up care available just in case and i usually call as SOON as I know I can't be open.... and honestly I NEVER shut down Period for just a personal day! My Parents are wonderful they're all about Family first and making me feel comfortable in my decision to shut down.... But its still a feeling I have that I'm not doing enough!
NOw in Virginia if my Daycare closed or if my "Sitter" said they couldn't watch my baby I was stressed to the MAX! I didn't have back up so i'd have to call in sick and all of you know you don't want to call in sick too many times when its not you yourself that is sick because then you won't have any sick time left when you are in fact actually sick!!!! and if you're single or even if you're married or in a relationship when moneys tight MONEYS TIGHT! So you can't just NOT go to work!
Maybe I'm rambling I'm just feeling bad. In the past 2 months i've had to close daycare down not once, twice or even three times BUT 4 times!!!!!! Thats more than I shut down ever!!!! I hope these sicknesses LEAVE us all alone and SOON! I'm sick of being sick and taking care of poor sick babies!
At any rate.... Its "those feelings" I needed to talk about today :) I hope you've all had a fantastic day! I know i'm really enjoying giving my babies all the love they need and deserve poor babies anyway.
Good News and doings :)
So today, is supposed to be a day of rest.... I did a lot of cleaning and getting ready for daycare tomorrow morning! I cooked dinner which will serve as lunch tomorrow as well :) I sure love being a stay at home mom/business woman!!!!
Today I talked with another fellow business owner who gave me many more great ideas and venues to look at! I am so very excited about everything!!!! Today I worked a little on possible floor plans and places for the Daycare and Community Center! I thought about how life would be if i acheived all my goals with this project!!!! I imagine my life in the future and truly beleive that I will love it just as much as I love it now!!!!!
A little about me: My name is Deanna Coleman. My maiden name was Deanna Smith! I grew up and graduated from Bennett County, Martin, South Dakota in 2003! I taught dance here in my high school years and after. I attended Black Hills State University with intentions of becoming a High School Counselor and was on the Dance team there. I then moved home and attended Oglala Lakota College for Psychology. I worked with Bennett County Extension office and 4-H for about 6 months before moving to Charlottesville VA as a Nanny! There I met my now Husband, Cedric Coleman. We lived in Lynchburg, VA and had our first daughter Brooklyn in 2006. I worked at Old Dominion Job Corps Center from 2005 to 2008 as a residential advisor! In 2008 I got a job as a HUC (Health Unit Coordinator) at Lynchburg General Hospital where I worked until we moved back home to Martin! We had our son Easton in 2010 and Azylen in 2012! I have had an in home daycare since May 2011, here in Martin and really enjoy being part of these childrens lives!!! The added plus to loving my job is I also get to spend everyday with my children :)
I have observed the past year and a half the lack of jobs here in Martin, the amount of people struggling to make a living, and even find childcare.... Every home daycare in Martin is either completely full or over full, The newer families are either not able to work because there is NO daycare openings OR they are not able to pay for daycare. It would be really nice to have more young people staying in our community and more things to do for younger adults as well as older adults! :) I am so excited to begin this adventure!!!!!

Ideas on Funding my Future Daycare Center
I have owned and operated my very own Home Daycare since May 2, 2011. I absolutely LOVE what I do. I have been filled to capacity for over 6 months now and there is such a huge need here in the Martin, South Dakota Community. I am looking to start the only Daycare Center here in Martin. I would like to have it be a Daycare Center and a Community Center. The location is negotiable but I would love to be on Main Street or Hwy 18! My biggest issue is funding.
The Daycare Community Center would include:
A Fully Staffed Daycare Center for Infants to 5 years old.
An Indoor PLayground for Daycare and community use. (Mommy & me PLaydates, and winter fun)
An Outdoor Playground for Daycare use.
A community Room.
A Dance Studio (This would be used for Daycare and dance classes which are not currently offered in Martin)
I know Martin is a small community and funding to start and keep this going would be hard in the first few years.... But I have dreams and I feel like our community NEEDS all of this :) I grew up here and LOVED to dance, I taught the Millennium Dance Team in 1999-2003 and again in 2011/2012. I also had my own dance group in high school and went on to teach a jr. high-12th dance team after graduating from Bennett County. I then taught dance in 2005-2008 while working for Job Corps in Virginia.
The Community Room would be used for VERY many different things.... I thought if this room was not used as much as it needed since there are like 4 different places in Martin with community rooms that I would turn it into another Daycare room....
The Indoor PLayground is something I utilized with my own children in Virginia... Its great, Since winters are so cold and so long here in South Dakota I thought it would be awesome to have the FIRST indoor playground in Martin, this would be used for Daycare, Mommy & Me PLaydates, Birthday Parties, ect.... It would be open to the community as long as everyone was respectful of the rules.
I would offer jobs to the community something that this community NEEDS! It would eventually add about 25 new jobs for Martin South Dakota community! I would also make hours available to people in College and working at the BC Hospital and Nursing Home.... The hours would be from 5:30 am till 8:30pm..... That is when I get staffed and started :)
I"m looking at quite a steep price but I figured I would try to see if anyone else would like to help me support my dreams for this community?!?!?!
I need to Purchase

Building:
Toys/equipment:
among many other Start up and maintaining costs..... I have so many ideas and thoughts.... Just looking to find ways to fund it.... If you think you have any ideas or would like to donate please let me know :) Thank you
